One photo every hour and the day of life hacks

Yesterday I thought it’d be a fun idea to bring you along on a day in my life here in Chamonix. One photo every hour, how hard can it be?

Turns out it didn’t work out quite as I had planned – half of the time I turned the alarm off and then forgot to take a photo. Whoops. So bear with me, it’s not exactly on the dot every hour. But I thought that that could also be a good metaphor for life – that life rarely goes as planned…

Disclaimer: In no way does yesterday, the 11th of January 2024, represent a typical day in my life. Every day is different and I love that about my life. But I did do a lot of things = good content day 😃

07.30. Woke up, prepared my coffee and then got on the mat for a 15 min core session. I’ve found myself avoiding core training lately, so doing it right when I wake up is a pretty awesome life hack.

08.30. Breakfast together with Jost. My smoothie bowls are holy in the mornings (along with my coffee). One banana, frozen berries, oat milk and maybe some pea/rice protein powder. Top with a mountain of homemade granola, peanut butter and a pinch of salt. Don’t forget the salt. What’s your go to breakfast?

09.30. Another cup of coffee, answering e-mails, messages and ticking off things on my to do list on the couch. Exciting things are coming, stay tuned!

10.30ish. I say ish because by this time the one photo an hour thing was slowly turning into one photo every hour and a half. This is me, running to the gym for a lower body strength workout. I love transportation runs because you’re getting your training in at the same time as you’re transporting yourself from place A to place B. Another life hack, you’re welcome.

11.30. Gym time! I love going to the gym in the mornings, I don’t have to share the squat rack with anyone :))

12.30. Not a bad view to have whilst waiting for the bus home.

13.30. I was so hungry when I came home and I forgot to show you my amazing lunch. Here’s what was left of it – Jost’s homemade vegan spinach lasagna. To. Die. For. If you love leftovers as much as I do, raise your hand.

14.30. Some more computer work next to this guy.

15.30. Matching the pilates mat at the physio clinic. Currently I go to the physio about every two-three weeks, sometimes more sometimes less. Right now we’re working on re-building the neuromuscular connection between my brain and my hamstring. It’s a strange feeling: the muscle is there but it feels like it’s not doing anything no matter how hard I try. But yesterday my physio told me I’ve made a lot of progress since the last time we saw each other, so that gave me some hope. I’m done with injuries and want to have a body that can handle long days in the mountains, not just this year but hopefully all my years to come.

16.30. This is about where it ends this time. We went to the climbing gym and I had so much fun that I forgot to take more photos. I felt strong and sent some hard routes, and to top it off we finished with a climbing tips & techniques session with YY Vertical. Then we went home, had a late dinner and I packed my things.

As I’m writing this I’m waiting to board my plane to the nordic Motherland.

See you on the other side. Hope you’re having a wonderful day <3
