What can I say: my heart is in the mountains. As hopelessly romantic as this sounds, I have really found this to be true in my case. It is in the mountains I feel the most alive, and it is where I have found a sense of purpose.

I grew up doing team gymnastics, a sport that I loved with all my heart but which was tainted by a strive for perfection and constant peak performance. When I first found ultra trail running at the age of 20, I didn’t just discover a new sport – I also found the freedom to be myself. My sisters and I signed up for a 50K trail race in Sweden out of the blue and we all finished. Two months later, I stood on the starting line of my first 50-miler. This is 10 years ago now and it has shaped my entire life since.

In 2020 my boyfriend and I moved to Chamonix in the heart of the French Alps, and these days I am grateful to call it my home. It’s on the trails and mountains of Chamonix that I train and prepare for my competitions and projects.
